The Dupes - London Migration Film Festival

A number of partner organisations - Falasteen on Film, Films of Resistance, The Arab Film Club and The Thawra Collective - are all working with the London Migration Film Festival to bring The Dupes to London audiences.

The Dupes (1972, المخدوعون) tells the story of three Palestinian refugees — of different background and ages, their fates are tied together in their attempt to find their way to the “promised land” of Kuwait, the meaning of which is different for each one of them.

Directed by Tawfiq Saleh, the film is an adaptation of the novel ”Men in the Sun” (1964) by the great Palestinian writer and activist Ghassan Kanafani who was assassinated by Israel the same year that the film came out.
